Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg for Nokuphila School (A programme of the Love Trust)
We deliver quality Christian education to primary and pre-primary school children at our Nokuphila School in Thembisa, where 357 learners are enrolled between Grade 000 and 7. Our learners receive an academic programme complemented by nutritious meals and sports and co-curricular activities to ensure that they grow well and thrive.
The 2023 Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg will take place on Sunday 19 November 2023. The Love Trust invites 10 cyclists to the iconic 97 km race to ride through the streets of Johannesburg for a huge purpose. We ask you to use your ride to help us raise R100 000 towards the safe transportation of our learners to and from Nokuphila School.
Many factors impact a child’s ability to learn effectively. The safety of our learners and the time spent travelling using public transport is one of the many indicators influencing the lack of attendance for most public schools in South Africa. For this reason, we spend over R270 000 per month on transportation to ensure the learners’ safety, low absenteeism and optimal care while travelling to school.
Cost for the charity entry (incl. 15% VAT and CSA rider levy and your donation to The Love Trust):

Riders can raise funds by asking friends or family to sponsor R200 per kilometer they ride leading up to the event and on the Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg event days. We will help you set up a GivenGain fundraiser page to achieve your fundraising target.
