Mission
in action

Through our Early Childhood Development (ECD) Teacher Training Programme, which extends across most provinces in South Africa, we qualify black South African women as teachers who are accredited to teach Grades 000, 00 and Grade R school children.

Together with our Affiliated Teacher Training Centres (ATTC’s) we reach 20 000 children living in townships and rural disadvantaged communities every day.

Western Cape

Reaching more children with quality Christian education and producing a positive impact on employment in the Western Cape region.

Why are we expanding our (early Childhood Development) ECD Teacher Training into the Western Cape?

  1. According to the results from the ECD Census 2021, 184,686 learners are enrolled in ECD’s in the Western Cape, which only constitute 36% of the pre-school aged children in the province. At present there are 20,987 ECD practitioners, of which 10,074 (48%) are unqualified.
  2. Existing ECD Teacher Training in the Western Cape is oversubscribed with long waiting lists.
  3. To reverse the cycle of poverty we must focus on education. Learning through play is foundational to success at school. Most children in poor communities do not have access to stimulating play.

How are we expanding our ECD Teacher Training in the Western Cape?

2023 Start a pilot project in Mitchells Plain (20 Students)
2024 Open a full Teacher Training Academy (80 Students)
2025 / 2026 Open 4 Satellite Centres around the Western Cape

How are we funding ECD Teacher Training in the Western Cape?

As a fully B-BBEE compliant organisation, we are seeking funding from Western Cape corporate social investment and other trusts and funds. All funds raised in the Western Cape will be used to benefit beneficiaries in the Western Cape.
