The Love Trust’s response to Covid-19
The Love Trust responded quickly to the Covid-19 crisis by putting in place a task team, led by a senior executive manager, to plan, implement and monitor Covid-19 actions to protect the health and safety of all employees, volunteers, students and children learners.
Despite the challenges we remain committed and steadfast to our cause. Our teachers ensured learning continued throughout the lockdown and provided pastoral, psychological and emotional care to children.
Our beneficiaries do not all have access to data and technology, so we created workbooks for children and deliver them via WhatsApp and SMS as well as paper workbooks delivered via community workers.
We have parent workshops to give them guidance on the workbooks, the expectations at home and how to create structure for their child to learn, Covid-19 awareness, safety and health for themselves and their families, and helping them to understand their child’s anxieties and fears at this time.
We provided food relief through a partnership with the community-based food relief centre for families in need.
The Love Trust is a haven for children and students. It’s a place of safety, where they can flourish, grow and become contributing citizens in our society.
In this, we need your prayers, practical support and donations to help us remain sustainable through and beyond these trying times.
